Why are we afraid of the dark? Why do we sometimes refuse to sleep? Can a small night light, a lullaby, a goodnight kiss, a hand to hold as we fall asleep, or the hope of a beautiful dream help and comfort us? What happens to our ego and our body when we sleep? I'm awake in my dreams too! How can that be? And where do all the images that I see when I dream come from? How can it be that I run, dance, fly? And what about all the ghosts lurking in the corners? The dance theater piece “Nachtgefrische” explores the phenomena of night and dreams and the state between waking and sleeping in choreographic and scenic images. These are flanked with sounds, whispers and (lullabies). For the second time, the internationally working dancer and choreographer Ceren Oran, whose works tour worldwide and are shown at festivals, is developing a dance theater performance for the Junge SchauSpielHaus. This time she will develop a night piece with two players from the ensemble and a dancer that effectively combines acting and dance.
