SAG MAL...
...is a dance theatre piece for the very little ones about communication without words.
"SAG MAL …" is a piece of dance theatre for children as of the age of two (2+). It deals with non-verbal communication and finding different ways of understanding each other. Two dancers and one musician narrate stories about different characters, identities and animals using minimalist means. They move in a humorous way against simple images through different habitats, jungles and oceans. In this, the characters on stage learn how to communicate and understand one another without words. They develop their own joint language with curiosity, fun and joy, since language is more than just words; it comprises the body, facial gestures, body gestures, rhythm and sign language.

“… Whilst she first eats a banana with relish and then peels an orange for her guest, he ogles the fruit and out of a banana and orange peel and with the aid of a toothpick he forms a dolphin and lets it glide through the air. This obviously does not please his partner. But then the charm of this idea dawns upon her and she signals her approval with gestures and mimic art. A wonderful demonstration of overcoming communication problems without the use of words. "The limits of my language are the limits of my world" declared Ludwig Wittgenstein. Not necessarily. At least not in Ceren Oran's poetic, imaginative play. “
