Wirbelnde Wörter (+6)
A Dance Piece for Classrooms, for Braunschweig Staatstheater in 2025

From a single word, images emerge, colorful chains of words that evoke these melodies. The sound coaxes out a rhythm, draws movement from the two dancers, and a choreography takes shape. Together with a musician, they explore the classroom and transform it into an imaginative space. What becomes of the sink in the corner, and does the table change when you lie beneath it?
In 2019, choreographer Ceren Oran premiered her mobile dance piece "Flying Words" as part of explore dance – Network Dance for Young Audiences. The Staatstheater Braunschweig is now presenting a new interpretation, "Whirling Words," for young audiences in classrooms in and around Braunschweig. In a playful and humorous way, Ceren Oran takes the audience on a journey that questions the perception of the everyday environment and opens up new possibilities and sensations.
Ceren Oran has been creating award-winning pieces for young audiences since 2010, which have been performed worldwide. Her collaborations have taken her to venues such as the Junges Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Elbphilharmonie. In 2017, she was a founding member of the "Young Dance Network," a network for young dance under the umbrella of ASSITEJ International (an international alliance for children's and youth theater) and currently a board member of Assitej Germany.
In her poetic and playful works, Ceren Oran captivates young audiences, poses questions, and invites them to experience dance as a means of communication.
