STORIES IN BLUE

A patchwork of parenthood stories, told by children (+8)

The first, most natural, but most complicated social relationships in the lives of human beings are parent-child relationships. Whether the classic father-mother, single parent, two mothers, two fathers, or any form - here we learn to live together, experiencing basic feelings such as love, fear, anger, security, jealousy, and compassion.

"Stories in Blue" draws pictures of the emotional landscapes of different families from the children’s perspectives through music, dance and scenery. During the process the choreographer and her team translated their own childhood memories into choreography and composition, but above all they researched and shared conversations with the real experts - the children!

Ceren Oran's latest dance performance affects everyone. Even if her “Stories in Blue” are primarily aimed at a young audience. The target group for which the choreographer, born in Istanbul in 1984, has brought many a sinful and touching piece to the stage since 2010. Never before, however, with such a thematically personal background. (...)
